Developing Partnerships... Launching Dreams
In July of 2013, NASA granted an exclusive license agreement to Juntura Group for the commercialization of inductive, non-contact position sensors that were developed in the KSC Applied Physics Lab for use with optical hardware that measured the depth of defects in the space shuttle orbiter windows. The Juntura Group was formed by students at Rollins College who had partnered with NASA to develop licensing and marketing strategies for KSC technology. The students miniaturized the sensor and created a prototype tool kit. They are marketing the sensors for precise measurement needs in the aerospace, military, automotive and other industrial markets, and made their first sale to the Florida Institute of Technology for use in a new 3D printer system.
