Deep Space Habitat (DSH) Generation 2 Lighting Module

The Prototype Development Laboratory (PDL) designed and built a set of 2nd generation LED lighting modules for the Deep Space Habitat (DSH) project lead by MSFC.  The KSC lights are modeled after the latest ISS Solid State Lighting Assemblies (SSLA).  Because of SSLA expense, the KSC team is looking into a cost effective version with increased capabilities for upcoming DSH activities.  The new lights are fully programmable to adjust light intensity and color temperature based on the required diurnal cycles of the crew.  The lights will also incorporate a series of blue wavelength LEDs, which suppresses melatonin production, to assist sleep pattern alterations.
